What you get when you buy a Firestone puppy
Firestone pups are smart and spunky with the go anywhere, do anything quality that makes Stafford’s such a wonderful friend and companion. All Firestone Stafford’s are CKC Reg’d Purebred Staffordshire Bull Terriers. Firestone pups go to their new homes micro-chipped, de-wormed, and with their first set of shots. All Firestone puppies are sold on spay/neuter contracts, breeding rights are not available. A puppy can be reserved by making a Non-Refundable Deposit. Making a deposit guarantees the depositor a spot in line and allows the buyer to specify their preference of Male/Female. Puppies are sold on a “first come first serve” deposit basis. If there are not enough puppies available in any given litter, or if a breeding does not produce any puppies, deposits will be transferred to the next available litter. Beware breeders who advertise exotic colours, exaggerated features, or “special imports from such and such country” and try to charge more for these ‘so called’ Exotics. A Staffordshire Bull Terrier is a Staffordshire Bull Terrier regardless of colour and country of origin. That said, some breeding stock is far far better quality than others. There are a few really terrible breeders around breeding for looks and money instead of breeding for health, longevity, and a love for the breed. Be sure to discern whether the breeder you choose is pumping out ‘cute’ puppies to pay for their next vacation, or they are carefully safeguarding the breed for the enjoyment of those lucky enough to own one for generationsm to come.
Our Philosophy on Breeding
At Firestone Staffordshire Bull Terriers, we don’t haphazardly breed our dogs for the express purpose of making money or selling ‘cute puppies’.
We carefully line breed our dogs, using selective breeding practises, to maintain proper breed type and proper breed temperament. We work hard to maintain a line of healthy, athletic Staffordshire Bull Terriers free from genetic health problems, and strive to consistently improve with each succeeding generation the conformation and drive of the dogs we have.
Puppies are occasionally available to good homes. We would strongly urge anyone looking for a Staffordshire Bull Terrier pup to thoroughly research the Breed and to make a Deposit on a Litter of puppies from a reputable breeder. There is a good reason that top breeders have waiting lists and require buyers to make a deposit. Top breeders have waiting lists because they consistently produce healthy, happy, beautiful Staffordshire Bull Terriers and their puppies are worth waiting for. Buyers make a deposit as a pledge that they are serious about their decision to add a long term family member to their home and as a sign that they care about keeping unwanted animals out of shelters. Many thousands of dogs find their way into animal shelters in Canada every year because thousands of uneducated people buy puppies impulsively from puppy mills and backyard breeders.
Think long term, thoroughly research the breed of dog your interested in, find a good breeder, and then experience the joy of adding a great dog to your home.
